How to Naturally Kill Ants

Pestie and Other DIY Methods Pros and Cons

When ants invade your home, you want them gone now. But, if you want to kill ants instantly, your best bet is a chemical solution, and that’s not the right option for everyone. We know a lot of our customers are looking for a natural solution to the best problems. If you have some patience and time, you can kill ants naturally. Consider these options.

How to Naturally Kill

Boiling Water: If you want to eliminate an entire nest without chemicals, you can use boiling water. First, you need to locate the ant hill. Then boil water in your tea kettle (it’s easier and safer to pour than if you use a pot). Very carefully pour the water down the ant hill. This should kill the ants instantly and collapse the hill. Check back in a few days, and repeat if there are still any ants crawling around.

Borax Solution: Mix 1-part borax with 3-parts sugar. Put this deadly bait solution in a small, lidded container, and add enough water to make it a soupy consistency. Mix in a little bit of peanut butter. Poke holes in the lid of the container, and place your traps where you frequently see ants. The borax will naturally kill the ants that ingest it immediately, and then ants who make it back to the colony will share the poison with their family.
