Do Bumble Bees Sting?
Yes! And unlike other types of bees, bumble bees do not lose their stinger when they attack their target, so they can sting multiple times.
The good news is that this type is bee is not particularly aggressive. If you see it away from its hive, it likely won’t pay attention to you, and you can enjoy its cuteness as it buzzes from flower to flower spreading pollen.
If you find it near its hive, however, it will go into defense mode, stinging you repeatedly. Queens and females are the only ones with stingers, so you can be sure if you get stung, it wasn’t the male bees’ doing.
